Sleep and Beyond, Sardor and Sarvar Abdullaevs
“Our team has grown from two co-founders to over 40 team members in the U.S. and Canada who share the same vision as we do,” Abdullaevs reports. The company has expanded its myBedding line of washable wool products as a key offering among its hypoallergenic and chemical-free catalog.
Not every business has a mascot. Among those, only one can call CoCo the sheep its own.
Sleep and Beyond has more than 20 years of experience manufacturing organic and natural bedding products. The company got its start in a small village in Kyrgyzstan and has expanded to provide jobs to more than 1,000 employees in factories in Kyrgyzstan, India, and China.
“We are also proud to be the great ‘parents’ to our 500,000 Kyrgyz superfine merino sheep in Kyrgyzstan,” says Sarvar Abdullaevs.
The company rebranded in 2007, as Sarvar and his brother Sardor led the third generation of Sleep and Beyond by introducing its product line to the North American market. Sleep and Beyond now makes a full line of washable wool bedding to accompany its organic cotton offerings.
“When we brought our first shipment from our factory in Kyrgyzstan, we didn’t really know much about sales, marketing, customs, accounting, manufacturing, operations, and more,” Abdullaevs admits. Building a strong relationship with the brothers’ mentor has helped them gain market share in the United States.
“We have attended at least one workshop a month in San Diego,” Abdullaevs says. In addition, the brothers meet with mentor Elias Sheinberg on a regular basis to discuss the business’ progress.
“Mr. Scheinberg and his guidance have been essential to our achievements," Abdullaevs says.
